Back In Business

Where has the time gone? It's almost been a year since my last blog. But I am back, and hopefully will be able to keep up a blog. I have a lot of projects lined up this summer. Let's catch up first!

I will be honest, thinking about writing a blog is overwhelming to me, so I will probably keep it short and sweet.

First up, last summer I made a painting for my friends' Allison and Wade's wedding. It is titled: "Love Tree, Love Tree, Say That You Love Me."

Something Old, Something New

Here's a couple of drawings of dudes. First, Sawyer from Lost. That would be the new drawing.

Second, an older drawing from my sketchbook of Sam Winchester from Supernatural. Yes, my entire life revolves around television I guess! Haha! More to come soon.

LOST artwork

In honor of Lost's last two episodes, I drew Kate (ok, so I was very inspired by the front of Entertainment Weekly). This is in colored pencils, featuring the color purple. I plan to actually update my blog in the future since I now have a scanner. More coming soon!

Blood Orange

This is my latest painting, Blood Orange, painted in acrylic on canvas. One of my friends commissioned this for his living room. It was inspired by a photograph he took by mistake, which had lights moving on it.

Fun With Paper!

I really love to paint but sometimes it's fun to do a project that takes a lot less time. I've done several cut paper drawings, using scrapbook paper, Sharpies, colored pencils, gel pens, etc. and I like them as gifts because I can get an old frame (or a dollar store one) and in an evening make something cool. Plus I get to indulge my addiction to scrapbook paper, which I have tons of for no reason. Here's two examples I made for friends recently. I hope to get a scanner sometime and post others that I've made.

My second order of business is to ask everyone to vote for my former student Amy Colalella in the Miley Cyrus Be a Star Competition. She's in the final 2!!! And she's awesome. End of story. If you watch her video, not only will you see that she has the most talent, but she also includes artwork! I'm not sure if it's her artwork but she loves art and was always very talented in that area as well, so I am assuming it's hers. So get online and vote!!
